German cable operators association Anga expects that a Germany-wide analogue cable TV switch off will occur by the end of 2018 at the latest. At that time, the preconditions for analogue-switch off that have been discussed between network operators, broadcasters, media policy and housing industry for many years will be in place, according to a statement made at beginning of Anga's annual cable conference Angacom. At the end of 2014, more than 70 percent of German cable customers used digital TV channels. This corresponds to a growth by over 22 percent compared with the previous year. At almost constant growth rates, a digital/analogue ratio of considerably more than 90 percent can be anticipated in 2018, which is more than the expected acceptance level for switch-off.

There are many DVB-T2 Set Top Boxes and Integrated TVs in the market. For those who want both DVB-T2 programs and internet programs, they need to use OTT+DVB-T2 STBs, such as SDMC’S H.265 UHD DV7810-T2 and H.265 1080p DV7904-T2.
