SDMC Joins Altice Labs’ TechDay to Explore the Future of AI Home

On October 27, 2026, SDMC participated in TechDay in Portugal, hosted by Altice Labs, an Altice Group company specializing in telecommunications R&D and innovation. Under the theme “AI Home & Smart Spaces,” the event explored how connected homes can evolve from responding to commands to understanding context and providing proactive assistance.
Derek Wan, Director of Strategic Marketing at SDMC, shared perspectives on TV-centric AI Home experiences. One area of exploration is how TVs, interactive displays, and connected home devices can work together to make everyday interactions more intuitive. Combining cloud and edge AI capabilities could further support natural interaction and coordinated experiences across devices and services.
Google Cloud shared its perspective on industry trends and key challenges in AI Home, outlining how its cloud and AI solutions could help address them.
SDMC is also exploring practical AI Home applications through existing collaboration with Google Cloud under the Proactive Physical AI Acceleration Program, with a focus on joint technology development, use-case validation, and service deployment.
